+ | We say that map $\Phi$ preserves commutativity in both directions if $A$ and $B$ commute if and only if $\Phi(A)$ and $Phi(B)$ commute. | ||
+ | Such maps with some additional properties, for example linearity, were studied on different spaces by many authors. | ||
+ | Only quite recently some authors were able to characterize maps that preserve commutativity in both directions without a linearity assumption and it is our aim to show even more general result. | ||

+ | Map $\Phi$ preserves commutativity (in one direction) if $AB = BA$ implies $\Phi(A)Phi(B) = \Phi(B)\Phi(A)$. We will present the characterization of surjective maps on $n \times n$ matrices over algebraically closed fields which preserve commutativity and have no additional structure like additivity. The result was proved using some techniques from graph theory, linear algebra, and projective geometry. | ||
